Grade 8 Information
Most kids that are coming to high school are pretty scared... Its okay we all were! A new school with more than 1500 students, new teachers, new classmates, new everything! It can be very overwhelming. But here at Eastview, we have a leadership class that helps make the transition smoother. We offer a grade 8 dance to meet other future grade 9s, May day to get the new grade 9s interacting and having fun, a course discovery day where you can tour the school's electives, and orientation day to ensure your first day of high school runs smoothly! So don't sweat it, high school is a blast!
Eastview is different than a lot of high schools. We offer many different course options and special programs, like Special Skills High school Majors. There are so many clubs and teams that are available to join, like the games club all the way to the football team. Eastview wants all their students to feel apart of something, and develop relationships with people who share your interests to make your high school experience unforgettable.

When in grade 9, there are compulsory courses that you have to take and the choice of two electives. You must take French, English, Math, Geography, Physical Education (gym) and Science. The electives could be anything that you would like, but it is recommended to take an Arts course (music, visual art, dance, drama) in grade 9.
